New User Interface

  1. Map Window
    The Map Window displays all selected layers from the Legend Box, quick information views in the upper right hand corner, and Scale tool in the upper left corner.
  2. Menu Bar
    The Menu Bar contains the “Search for” , “MMS Lookup” , and “Utilities” menus. The “Search for” menu is used to search for Lease Blocks, Pipeline Segments, and Lat., Long. The “MMS Lookup” menu is used to lookup company information by name, MMS company number, or city. The “Utilities” menu is used to download the layers displayed in the map window in either a picture file or AutoCAD script file.
  3. Tool Bar
    The Tool bar contains tools for Zoom to Full Extent, Back, Forward, Zoom in, Zoom out, Pan, Select, Auto Identify, Measure, Add Point of Interest, and Refresh Map.
  4. Legend box
    The legend box is use to select and deselect layers displayed in the map window. To display a layer or remove a layer from the map window, select or deselect the object.
  5. Key Map
    Shows the approximate area of the Gulf of Mexico that you are viewing in the map window.
  6. Info. and Select Bar
    Displays information for the measuring tool, and contains drop down list for auto identify tool.
  7. Lat., Long. Bar
    Displays the latitude and longitude of the curser location within the map window.
Layers

  • Geographic Mapping Data
    • Protractions
      Selecting this layer will display all protractions within the Gulf of Mexico.
    • Continental Shelf Boundary
      Selecting this layer will draw the Continental Shelf Boundary within the Gulf of Mexico as a blue line.
    • Federal/State Boundary
      Selecting this layer will draw the federal/state boundary line within the Gulf of Mexico as a green line.
    • USCG Districts
      Selecting this layer will display all USCG districts within the Gulf of Mexico in there respective colors.
    • Fairways
      Selecting this layer will draw all shipping fairway in the Gulf of Mexico in magenta.
    • Blocks
      Selecting this layer will draw all lease blocks within the Gulf of Mexico in grey.
  • Outer Continental Shelf Data
    • Pipelines
      Selecting this layer will draw all known pipelines in the map window. Active pipelines will be displayed in green, abandoned pipelines will be displayed in grey, and proposed pipelines will be displayed in magenta.
    • Platforms
      Selecting this layer will display all structures within the Gulf of Mexico in the map window. Active platforms will be displayed in red, abandon platforms will be displayed in grey. Fixed leg platforms will be displayed as a square, wells will be displayed as a circle, and well protectors will be displayed as a triangle.
    • Active Leases
      Selecting this layer will display all active leases within the Gulf of Mexico.
    • Boreholes
      Selecting this layer will display all boreholes within the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Louisiana Data
    • Pipelines
      Selecting this layer will draw all known Louisiana state pipelines in the map window. Active pipelines will be displayed in green, abandoned pipelines will be displayed in grey, and proposed pipelines will be displayed in magenta.
    • Platforms
      Selecting this layer will display all structures within Louisiana in the map window.
  • Texas Data
    • Pipelines
      Selecting this layer will draw all known Texas state pipelines in the map window. Active pipelines will be displayed in green, abandoned pipelines will be displayed in grey, and proposed pipelines will be displayed in magenta.
    • Blocks
      Selecting this layer will draw all lease blocks along the Texas coastline.
    • Boreholes
      Selecting this layer will display all boreholes along the Texas coastline.
  • Alabama Data
    • Pipelines
      Selecting this layer will draw all known Alabama state pipelines in the map window. Active pipelines will be displayed in green, abandoned pipelines will be displayed in grey, and proposed pipelines will be displayed in magenta.
    • Blocks
      Selecting this layer will draw all lease blocks along the Alabama coastline.
  • Mississippi Data
    • Blocks
      Selecting this layer will draw all lease blocks along the Mississippi coastline.
  • Hazard Data
    • Reefs
      Selecting this layer will display all known natural reefs within the Gulf of Mexico.
    • Wrecks & Obstructions
      Selecting this layer will display all known wrecks and obstructions within the Gulf of Mexico as red dots.
    • Rig To Reef Boundaries
      Selecting this layer will display all known artificial reefs boundaries within the Gulf of Mexico.
    • Rig To Reef Points
      Selecting this layer will display all known artificial reefs within the Gulf of Mexico.


View detailed information about an object

To view information about an object or multiple objects, select the object(s) in the map window and then click the button in the information window for the object you wish to view detailed information about.

The following information will be display for each object.
